iPhone had potential until FW 1.1.1 :-/ (constantly updating this story...)

Had the iphone working as an ipod touch for the last few days (well, with the addition of a camera.. ). I must say, it's an amazing little device, and surfing on this device is great. Since I got it more to see what it was like to use.. i will list my pro's and con's briefly. pro's - amazing web experience, snappy load speed, interface, i will post a picture.. even heavy webpages go quick... - ipod function, great interface, functionality also with videos and full movies. - wifi access, easier than on any other mobile device, even laptops.. i don't understand why it shouldn't be this easy. - HID, the touchscreen is remarkable, and works great for input (although a lil tricky before you get used to it) - screen is beautiful and shows darks really well. the swivel function is cool too. - google maps and youtube, stunning and fast although not all videos are available yet.. but the one i posted 4months ago is.. so its not too bad ;-) - battery.. this was a problem in the beginning, but for such a large screen i must say i am impressed.. was playing with it for a whole day and it was still on 70% full. - 3rd party apps.. these really pushes the use of the device to it's full potential.. look in cons.. con's - limited bluetooth, can only interact with headsets.. no sending filez etc (more here) - no official support to download files (ie no access to filesystem)- drag & dropping in itunes 7.4.1 doesn't work! - camera: light.. missing... as well as picture settings, apple's simplicity factor is a problem here, however with the right light pictures are pretty good. - flash: isn't supported yet. this can be annoying.. but can also get fixed in future releases..maybe. when it comes to the phone part, i've heard that it doesn't support MMS.. which is crazy.. this could be fixed in a future FW release though, so hope isn't gone.. another problem with the phone part is to send sms's to multiple recipients, doesn't work.. i will confirm this when i start using it as my main phone. and the worst of all, is apple's choice to leave out the 3rd party developers in FW 1.1.1, a full story here: http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/oct2007/tc2007105_056012.htm to see hacking status of FW 1.1.1 google iphone dev team (they don't like people direct- linking to their site..) if FW 1.1.1 against all odds; doesn't get hacked; don't buy the iphone.. i am still running FW 1.0.2 BTW; which supports unlocking to use as phone, 3rd party apps, etc. this is also a more intresting place to see how the hackin' is going. http://www.tuaw.com/ ...
