i'm going nuts when i hear the word lounge.. does a french brasserie, an italian espresso bar or an irish pub have lounges? the oh so urban zurich ppl are oh so different and need to lay around in front of a restaurants because we don't have spines that keep us upright on normal chairs, or even worse, standing at a bar.. sorry my flaming mindlifter, the blogging world is a free world.. ;-P ..i'm getting old. ... You are really getting OLD. I forgot in your age its had to get up from the sofas. They should make them a bit higher for people like you than can't stand up anymore. Luckily I'm still young and don't have hemroids problems that make me have to stand. BTW found a pick of you ... Link

BÜNZLI ALARM
I guess now that you are married your Bünzli genes are active. I think it would be better for you to leave the loud and hectic city and find your future home at some remote place were you can live like in the 1950's. Or go look for a place in a seniors home like this one. http://www.schaerme.ch ... Link

the idea of people sitting inside to enjoy a drink actually stemms from the time when streets were used to dump human waste products. The notion carried on in Europe even after cloaks were built as streets were poorly cleaned and smog and dirt filled the air. In the early 19th century the first service on the streets evolved due to a loophole in the law. This development was looked upon by the media as something distasteful and people were quite split in their opinion regarding the matter. All the while, in the countryside people enjoyed the liberty of sitting outside in the sunshine sippin on some ale or whine through out time . Given history i guess we are facing the "next" level. Same story different bucket. Some are against it, some are ok with it. Others embrace it. I say: why not leave it up to the owners of the restaurants/bars/louges. If space allows it they should be free to put "lounges" up. At the end of the day, in 50 years time we are going to look back and laught at the current discussion regarding such a "dramatic development" - that is if we have not killed ourselves in a 3rd world war by then Its not a NEW idea... romans enjoyed lounging around a long time ago. ... jesus christ
just to add my piss to the pot, i think lounges are retarded too, but don't see why you have to outlaw them... the police/ whoever decided to ban them obviously have too much time on their hands - how about they concentrate on places like our local drug shop... hmmmm? mindlifter dear, put your sturmgewehr back in the broom cupboard. the alarm does not need to be raised just yet. ...
