Spent watching the National Geographic channel and learnt the following, which I will share with you: 1. There is a unique earthquake hotspot between St.Louis and Memphis (unique because it is in the centre of a plate, not at the edge) which is highly likely to trigger an earthquake within the next 50 years which will largely destroy both cities. The last time, in 1812, a large area of land collapsed and created a new lake where there used to be a village. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Madrid_Fault_Zone 2. the Vikings landed in Newfoundland and probably Nova Scotia but were overpowered by the Indians and had to return home. I also saw a fascinating programme about child slavery on Lake Volta in Ghana, pretty grim but fascinating images. This adds to my argument that being a couch potato is not all bad. The cats, especially, were grateful for the afternoon spent sleeping on my legs, this in turn was my excuse for not moving. ... Link (0 comments) ... Comment
