Any Question Answered

http://www.issuebits.com/

Colly Myers, the former managing director of Psion and founding CEO of Symbian, is taking the wraps off his start-up today. It's a fascinating challenge to the web's free search engines. For the price of a pound, Issuebits' AQA service will answer any question you want to pose it by text message, and Myers says users will get an answer within six minutes - also by text message, naturally.

Exams and pub quizzes may never be the same again!

J os kicks azz..

While apple is concentrating of creating the smallest player with the largest memory.. and leaving little time for other intresting functions...

Jens of Sweden turns up to see what people actually want..

40 gigs for mp3s? hmm let me see.. hmm what should i listen to hmm... hmm.. argh.. wwill just listen toxic again...

for me it was already enough when i had 5 gigs in my first ipod.. and back then that was also too much..

Jens of Sweden presents us with a new model.. the MP-300;
one on slim -fast 256mb and another vollkorn with salty butter 512mb version.. both in the same design shell.

This thing is not only an mp3 player.. some cool functions are:

- direct-record to the player from your soundsystem/md/other soundsource without even touchig a computer; via line in.. and the JoS player stores the music in super high quality of 224kbps (or lower if prefered) mp3 realtime...

- an FM TRANSMITTER (yes thats right) built in.. this means that you can transmit at FM 91.0 mhz.. tune your radio at home or in the car to that frequency and hear the music from the player.. (although this is apparently illegal in europe.. but can still easily be done)

- fm reciever.. to listen to regular radio on the player itself..

- 26 hours playback.. and this with a single AA battery that you obiously can replace ;-)

- mic-in, so you can record a seminar, conference, band rehersal in higher quality.

and the coolest feature.. combining two of the features..
- using the mic-in and the fm transmitter.. at the same time..

so.. what does this do :-) well that means you can broadcast yourself on a commercial radio channel... and talk to people who are trying to listen to some specific radio show.. when driving for instance.. you could talk in to the radio of the car next to you..

this would be highly illegal ofcourse.. in europe.. but fun anywhere...

if you buy it from the states it includes the FM tranmitter antenna.. and it´s much cheaper than buying it from sweden..

it has become yet another "candian goose" item for the swedish incrowd... and jens knows it.. and loves it...

works on Mac and PC!

$219 for 256mb and $299 for 512mb

buy it here:

[sidenote.. i would have prefered his logo to be a little more 8bit.. ]

summer´s almost here folks

Vulnerability Issues in TCP

http://www.uniras.gov.uk/vuls/2004/236929/index.htm

What is Affected?

The vulnerability described in this advisory affects implementations of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) that comply with the Internet Engineering Task Force’s (IETF’s) Requests For Comments (RFCs) for TCP, including RFC 793, the original specification, and RFC 1323, TCP Extensions for High Performance.

TCP is a core network protocol used in the majority of networked computer systems today. Many vendors include support for this protocol in their products and may be impacted to varying degrees. Furthermore any network service or application that relies on a TCP connection will also be impacted, the severity depending primarily on the duration of the TCP session.
