Possibly it's because you're rewarding the production of something you found to be quite good by giving (effectively) a tiny amount of money towards paying for the production.

Or something like that anyway.

what a waste of money.

It's a crime? no shit! Its a fucking crime that people watch telesync:ed films the picture quality is terrible.
But its not like crappy adverts convincing people they're doing business with terrorists is going to change anything (might just encourage people).
Instead of spending their money on crappy campaigns like these they should reduce the price of the dvds.
