I do believe that's what is known as 'foreshortening' ... "Legend grows around a 1000-m tall Japanese tourist who was so tall he could hold the eiffel tower between his thunb and index finger... nobody has actually ever seen him, but all Mitsubishi Osaka employees saw the photo when their boss returned from his trip to Paris..." ...
