it's obvious laptops don't like me..

in less than two weeks after recieving my laptop the HD broke..
so i went to pick up a shiny new one with 40gb and that one has crashed too..

does anyone know any good recovery tools for harddisks?
(not just "get a mac")

I have downloaded:
- easy recovery pro
- RecoverMyFiles

I heard that putting it in the freezer, and dropping it from a table are also good way of making them work temporarily..

beer dunking has also been known to work

Freezer never worked reliably for me, but I've tried it many times...
