Get a firewire storage device. About 500Gb should do you... To be honest I'm quite happy with the 120Gb Iomega USB 2 external HD I've got. Not had any problems with it so far... ... Link

I've had it for ages now so I honestly can't remember but I think it was in the region of 200 - 300 or so. It really depends how much you want to spend, but you can now get 4Gb USB 2 Keys from online shops (will probably set you back about $600 if not more though...) ... Link

since it´s to be used with a laptop aswell.. the optimum would be an USB 2.0 (nice and fast for your desktop too, and i don´t think you have firewire built into your laptop) i would get a 200gb notebook hd and a case from pyrogate! check ebay.. or http://www.pyrogate.com ... Link
