I have had better experiences with Canon cameras than Olympus. Even for things like software Canon seems betters (Olympus' Camedia software is the worst software I've ever used)...

I love nikon photo quality...

check these links for "Fototests" to see if the pic qulity is what you are looking for. sometimes the qulity is shit , even if the cam is cool, so dont make a wrong desicion only on features, gell! I have the Nikon coolpix 5700 and i love the quality(even if the speed is not like a 4000.-SLR), the coolpix 5400 just came out with 5.1mp, is small and has an exelent nikon CCD chip, qulity without compromise! Canon and Olympus are also good, but check the PHOTO qulity FIRST!
P.S.- Nikon softwear is the king, its so simple and fast to use!

i have that one. excellent image quality although the flash is way too bright (never us it anyway, much cooler fx without boring flash). beautifully designed and very compact camera, really easy menues in different languages and simple software. but get a second battery/akku, you'll need it anyway... check heinigerag.ch, its the cheapest and it comes with an additional 256mb-flashcard if you wish.
