Apple has spent over a billion dollars in advertising trying to convince the world that the Mac is so easy to use even Forrest Gump can do it. But what they don't say is "use it for what?" Yes, anyone can turn one on. Anyone can drag icons around the screen. But what do real novices end up doing with their Macs? Very little.

And we won't even go into the price--because while Macs are now not as much more expensive than a PC, they still are more expensive, significantly, in fact, so that if you bought a PC for the same price as a similar Mac you'd have money left over for software or a better printer or just more computer memory
