This is getting more funny by the minute!!!

Justice minister Thomas Bodström is open to changing the law prohibiting the download of copywrited material - instead he could imagine to have a "broadband fee".

In effect the Socialists, the Left party and the Moderates have been forced to rethink their piracy laws in the last few days. The Center party and Greens were never for such a law according to SVD.

The broadband fee would be given to artists and other copywrite interest groups who would loose out on sales.

i think good old TommyB got some spanking from fat old JoshP. For those that do not know, this year is election year and the Socialists are in a head on head race with the Moderates. It would thus be great to get the Pirateparty on their side to shift the vote. Only problem, the Socialists are the ones that busted TPB. I think its going to need a lot of massaging to get them on the S side. I just loove politics. Its so predictable.

The French are already implementing a deal like that.. You pay for a "leech license" that will cost around €300 a year, but then you are legal... I would pay.. I leech around 2-5 gig a day so anything above 500 gig a year, that would mean less than a swissy per gig... that is roughly 1 swissy per movie
