i forgot to tell you, but a modded xbox would also have worked splendidly.. they are cheap now...and you can even read aftonbladet off your tv..play emulated retro games and they have HDTV output for hi-res, if you plan to get HD soon.

I think the XboX is fairly ugly, and I would not want to insult my PS2 :-) I spoke to BmacD before I bought it...

yupp.. that's why i wouldn't put it on display, but the functionality it offers is amazing. a guy i know has one hooked up to his HDTV plasma.. it's wicked..

with on demand xbox games, network play xvid/divx (all formats) etc, retrogaming, news, webradio, website reader, apple HQ trailer DB direct access etc etc etc..

Well I hope the KiSS doesn't disappoint - I find it very nice and useful, if a bit nerdy ;o)

Regarding other devices, just wait for PS3 which will be HD compliant and offer all the X-Box does and much, much more...

In fact it might even be my first console since my current N64!

I can't wait... Sony's CEO has warned that it is going to be expen$ive , but I think its going to be worth it :-)

Expensive though is 100% relative to the target audience. If he was making that speach to a group of high school kids then $150 is going to be considered expensive...

Personally I don't think it is going to be particularly expensive relative to what I would want to pay for it. Not cheap granted, but not too expensive either...
