We sell projectors that have this copy protection Basically the way it works is that the DVI/HDMI output stops working when the display device connected to it doesn’t know the correct key responses. The projectors we sell have an external scalar which does all the processing and then outputs the scaled images to the projector via a DVI cable. The scalar will stop outputting video when it doesn’t get the correct responses from the projector to its key requests. If I reduce the resolution output of the DVI port on the scalar it will work with any display. This is to stop you from connecting a recording device to the DVI port and making 1:1 copies of the content. But there is always a way around it eventually. Your home HD stuff doesn’t get marked for DRM so it will play fine. ... Link ... Comment |
