I only wanted to warn you as a new mac memeber that your Mac mini will not get you what you would expect from a G5 or a PC, regarding speed and 64bit extension.

.....but i have been using Apple since the Apple II at ICS. Today I use a PM-G5@1.8@ work. I use the mini instead of a powerbook at the moment, just because of its size and price. Im still waiting for the new chips@ 3 or 4 GHz before i buy a PowerMac cause my P4@3.8+2gbDDR2Ram still kicks the G5@2.5's ass!

If you do run in to problems / questions with OSX you can ask me for support. ;-)

(sooner or later with heavy useage the privilege repair/restore question will come up, i have a ton of mini appz to extend OSX the way YOU would like it.)

i should have called you yesterday.. i wasn't able to install the ipod updater(22-02-2005), because it said "Action - Denied" when i was running the installer.

I managed to fix it with a little app called "pacifier" though...

someone else said i needed to restore permissions... a task which was just a waste of time and didn't make any difference whatsoever..

i also used the Mac II's at ICS, then used the mac classics (sim city, dark castle / mac ninja ;-) , then the colour macs ..

and I was also in the computer room at AISZ when you were trying to scan the cover of the playboy calendar in max resolution.. and the librarian came in and annoyed you. ;-)

in 94 i used the mac performa to help edit a musicvideo shot with an analogue HI8 handycam in avid's movie edit prog.

Since then i haven't really done anything till now.. but it doesn't take long to pick it up..

do you know how to access the ipod filestructure using a mac?

the ipod pops up on the desktop (as an icon) when i plug it in for about 2 seconds, and then disappears.
