Tsunami Song

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4211883.stm A New York radio show crew has been suspended for playing a song that ridiculed victims of the Asian tsunami. It includes lines about "Africans drowning, little Chinamen swept away". The song, to the tune of charity hit We Are the World, includes lines such as: "I just saw her float by, a tree right through her head, and now your children will be sold to child slavery." Tasteless indeed but I don't think they meant it in a cruel way... You might want to skip to 4 minutes to avoid the arguments that take place before the song is played. Anyhoo; here's the MP3... ... the argument in the beginning is actually intresting.. at least one person in the studio had a brain.. and i wonder who's idea it was to start off with.. did they also make something similar when 9/11 happened? didn't think so. ... Link ... Comment |
