D.o.B: OK, now we have the following rules:

1) No long political statements - only short RTL style reports
2) No blank user flaming - this could upset users
3) No discriminating posts - its not humorous and definately not politically correct.

any more? Please post them in the comments and I will add them to the general guidelines list...

As I said in my other comment. Point 3 I object to strenuously since that is censorship. The way I have proposed allows people to decide what they want to look at instead of 'forcing it upon them' as is the case with front page posts.

It's not possible to draw the same line between offensive and funny for everyone - therefore let people make up their own minds.

no, darlink

you got it all wrong - i don't think there need to be rules or bans either, but if you are posting something thats a little controversial, like pictures of blown up babies, 4 page long discussions on piracy or pot, videos of animals being tortured or pictures of women projectile shitting into their own mouths (would link but can't be bothered to look for it) you could put it in the comments so a) those of us in open-plan offices dont get a bad reputation and b) those of us who are likely to get a bit worked up or offended don't suffer.

'k, point taken. I didn't think that was offensive or unsafe for work, but there again my open plan office is designed (by me) so that my monitor faces a brick wall. They wondered why I wanted to sit here, now who's laughing...
