since i've been geeking around on the "scene" since apple switched to intel i can just say that nows the time.

it's now possible to run the vanilla kernel of osx with EFI.

this essentially means that you no longer have to wait for hacked updates etc. after installation has completed you can now use your hack like a regular mac.. in other words, standard grayboxes are now more compatible then ever with osx.

but yes, it does help to have one of the motherboards listed.

with a standard setup you are also no too far away from the performance of a MacPRO.
