Hearts and Minds
bastard
20:05h
The recent "Hearts and Minds" campain of the USA has baffeled me quite honestly. Hearts and Minds was actually something that sprung out from the British SAS forces when they were established in the late 50's and 60's. The brits assigned a special troop to roam the rainforests of Borneo in search of Indonesian fighters. Realising that these had far better practices in jungle warfare the SAS developed the Hearts and Minds tactics whereby these would almost become parts of the families of the tribal villages. The SAS started in supplying villages with medicine and even helped these harvesting crops etc. Soon the villagers provided them with valuable intel concerning the location of the Indonesian forces as well as food and shelter. Hearts and minds thus refers to trying to become almost like a member of a tribe through continuously nurturing the relationship with the local people. It seems that the Coalition forces have thought the term "Hearts and Minds" were suitable for their purpose and have bombarded the US media with the term. Its sounds good. It sound humain, clean and diplomatic and above all - it sound as if no blood were to be spilled. Yet, given the recent pictures of the Abu Grahib rison, allegations of executions, bombs being dropped on demonstrators and farmers being torn to shreads by 20mm Bofors cannons of AC 130 hercules planes I stand perplexed... Its a hypocritical nation, where an adverticement-centric oprah winfield and Dr. Phill mentality seems to dominate the common household husband and wife's mentality. A few months ago i hear Dr. Phill in his show telling an anti-iraq war proponent not to criticise the US involvement within Iraq as this could "damage the morale of the fighting troups". 9/11 was the "firstblood" of the US nation and look how the nation reacted: Hysterically with gasmasks and shelter food was sold out within the hour. Yet the damage which has been caused within both Afganistan and Iraq is untold. No. of death in 9/11: 3'000. Put this into perspective: No. of deaths due to food poisoning in the US. 9'000. No of death in Afganistan and Iraq due to Coalition intervention: 52'500 and counting... No of injured: 100'500. Well i guess as long as the next Bachellor or the apprentice keeps comming all is happy and fine within the land of the free... free of brains SAS- Hearts and Minds THIS IS NOT HEARTS AND MINDS AC130 gunship: backlink bombing of civilians: Apache killing: Dr. Phil: Oprah's biased "motherly" concerns - watch the preview
And please do not forgett: The US is the only nation who has ever used nuclear weapons! TWICE!!! ... Link (0 comments) ... Comment
Najaf - the end of the resistance or the beginning of uprising?
bastard
19:41h
bbc has reported that the US led troups are preparing to enter the Shiite city of Najaf. Long being regarded as a wholy city by the Arabic Shiites a large scale battle could result in even further anti-"coalition" movements within the whole of the arabic world. At the heart of the dispute stands the mausoleum of Imam Ali, considered by Shiites as the successor of Prophet Mohammed. Today, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned the coalition forces that "The Muslim nation and the Iraqi people will not pardon these atrocities and the Iraqi nation will react with virulence." Najaf's governour, who asked the US to help free the city of Al Sadr militants said that coalition forces are to "stop in Midan Square," on the edge of the district. "If we decide to go into the old city, this will be the job of Iraqi police and soldiers." Yet according to US headquarters, US forces will not stop at anything in trying to win the fight against rebel forces (good old prpaganda CNN however say that they will stop and leave it to Iraqi solidiers: "U.S. military sources said the military is considering sending Iraqi, rather than U.S., forces into the compound"). read more: and the propaganda media group: ...
