Now this is interesting...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4427606.stm

In late October Sony was found to be using stealth techniques to hide software that stopped some of its CDs being illegally copied.

Now three virus variants have been found that use the Sony software to evade detection by anti-virus programs.

This is exactly what people were complaining about, now it has come to pass. It's going to make this kind of prosecution very feasible in the future as they have a real case study...

well done sony... why copy protect cds? what's the point? it wont make a difference. lots of companies have tried to do this.. and noone has fully succeeded.. just made the listening experience a fucking mess for some people who weren't even able to properly playback their new cds.. aaargh.. these people need to focus on something else.
